Sweetheart Play Dough

If you are looking for a last minute homemade Valentine's gift or a fun holiday activity for your kids, I have just the thing! With a little experimenting this weekend, I came up with a recipe for the perfect Sweet Heart play dough. It is so pretty and smells just like the candy! How cute would it be to package up some of this play dough with a box of Sweet Hearts for your kid's to deliver to their friends? And the best part is this recipe is so simple even the littlest ones can help make it!

Sweet Heart Play Dough Recipe:

Ingredients
2 cups flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tbsp oil
1 cup boiling water
 10 drops lemon oil
1 tbsp vanilla extract

additional oil (1-2 tbsp)
food coloring

Directions
With a spoon, mix the first 6 ingredients together in a large bowl.  If a young child is helping, just make sure the water has cooled enough before they take over. It doesn't take long. Once combined, kneed in additional oil a little at a time to get a luxuriously smooth dough that won't dry out.  Divide dough depending on the number of colors you want. Slowly kneed in food coloring to achieve your desired colors!
